SIDPEC and PETROSAFE Enhance Joint Cooperation in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection

Within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy emphasizing strict adherence to occupational safety, health, and environmental protection standards, Chemist /Mohamed Zakaria Al-Afandi, Chairman and Managing Director of SIDPEC, received Chemist Hany Tawfik, Chairman and Managing Director of PETROSAFE, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two companies. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides and aimed to support the implementation of the highest standards of occupational safety and health in line with international best practices. The proposed areas of cooperation include process safety, engineering projects, waste management, occupational safety and health studies, environmental protection, sustainability initiatives, as well as the provision of quality management system certifications, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 50001. Officials from both companies affirmed that this cooperation represents a model of the Egyptian petroleum sector’s commitment to developing human capabilities and applying the latest global best practices in occupational safety, health, and environmental protection, in addition to enhancing the efficiency of process safety systems. Such efforts contribute to safeguarding lives, protecting assets, and preserving the surrounding environment. This step comes as part of SIDPEC’s strategic plan to strengthen partnerships with specialized companies within the petroleum sector, with the aim of presenting a leading model in process safety management, exploring opportunities for collaboration in sustainability projects, and keeping pace with modern approaches to managing occupational safety, health, and environmental protection.
